Day 1
Ha Giang City – Thon Tha – Ha Thanh – Tam Son

Route: Ha Giang City, Thon Tha Village, Ha Thanh Village, Minh Tan, Bac Sum Pass, Quan Ba Heaven Gate, Quan Ba Twin Mountains, Lung Khuy Cave, Nam Dam Village

Start from the Ha Giang Road Trip office or get picked up from your hotel or homestay in Ha Giang City. The day begins with a visit to Thon Tha and Ha Thanh villages, two beautiful Tay villages near Ha Giang. If the weather allows, you can also swim at Ha Thanh waterfall.

After lunch in Minh Tan, enter the Dong Van Karst Plateau Geopark and ride through Bac Sum Pass, Quan Ba Heaven Gate, and the Quan Ba Twin Mountains. In the afternoon, visit Lung Khuy Cave before continuing to Nam Dam Village, where you stay overnight in a peaceful Red Dao homestay.

Continue through Yen Minh and Tham Ma Pass before lunch near Sa Phin Village. After lunch, visit the Hmong King’s Palace and continue to Lung Cu Flag Tower, one of the northernmost points of Vietnam. On the way, stop at Sa Li Pass for views of Dao villages and rice terraces. Arrive in Du Gia in the late afternoon, check in at a Tay homestay, and enjoy a local family dinner.
